Cruise & Maritime Voyages have scheduled a seven-night cruise to mark the centenary of the maiden voyage of Titanic. Marco Polo (1965/) will sail from the London Cruise Terminal on 10 April, and call at Cherbourg, where 231 passengers were embarked, and Cobh, the last port Titanic visited before she set sail for New York. Marco Polo will also call at Belfast to enable passengers to visit the Titanic Quarter, while in Liverpool, there will be excursions to see the Titanic Memorial, the White Star Line Headquarters and the Merseyside Maritime Museum. She will also cruise by the Old Head of Kinsale, close to where RMS Lusitania was torpedoed and sunk on 7 May 1915. A company called Titanic Memorial Cruise has chartered Fred Olsen Cruise Lines Balmoral d988/43,537gt) and Azamara Club Cruises Azamara Journey (2000/30,277gt), for special Titanic anniversary cruises. Balmoral sails on a 12-night cruise from Southampton on 8 April and will arrive at the exact site where Titanic sank on 14 April 1912. She will rendezvous with Azamara Journey, which departs from New York on 10 April, on an eight-night commemorative sailing.
