Seajacks International has entered into a contract with South Korean shipbuilder Samsung Heavy Industries to build what it says will be 'the world's largest and most advanced offshore wind farm installation vessel'. To be named Seajacks Scylla, the 12-knot vessel will be based on the Custo MSC NC14000X design and will be the fifth new self-propelled jack-up to join the Seajacks fleet since 2009. It will be equipped with a 1,500-ton leg-encircling crane and will have a usable deck space area in excess of 5,000 square metres. 105m legs will allow it to install wind farm components in water depths of up to 65m.
