Maersk flagship springs a teak

One of Maersk Line's largest box ships, the 15.500TEU capacity Emma Maersk, suffered severe engine room flooding at the mouth of the Suez Canal in February and is expected to be out of service for months. She suffered a complete loss of power after ingress of water left the engine room under 18m of water, and reports suggested that the vessel was close to sinking and potentially blocking the vitally important Suez Canal.
