While on passage off the southern coast of Spain, bound for Monte Carlo on 26 April, Crystal Serenity was hit by a large wave soon after midnight. The force of the water broke three windows in the Crystal Dining Room and caused flooding and other damage. The dining room remained closed for breakfast and lunch, but was fully back in service by the evening, with all of the windows repaired and the full clean-up and dry-out completed. Crystal Serenity had recently completed her Northern Europe season and was repositioning to the Mediterranean from Southampton.
