Norway's J. J. Ugland Companies has taken delivery of the 57,501dwt bulk carrier Ellenita from Tsuneishi Heavy Industries as the latest of the TESS (Tsuneishi Economical Standard Ship) series, which was first introduced by the Japanese builder in 1984. Powered by a Kawasaki-MAN B&W two-stroke 6L60MC diesel of 12,889hp giving 14.5 knots, the ship has a cargo capacity of 72,500m~3 in five holds served by four centreline-mounted hydraulic cranes. At the stern, a Tsuneishi Optimized Propulsive Gear propeller is used to lower vibration levels.
