Maaskant Shipyards Stellendam recently delivered the 35m by 8.7m offshore chaser 7-Stars to offshore support service provider Rederij Groen. The new vessel will join Rederij Groen's fleet of almost 30 vessels, which includes 7-Stars sister vessels 7-0ceans and 7-Seas. The 338gt craft are intended to be Seismic Research Support Vessels and have two Goud Drives WM-355LB4, each of 500kW, driving two Veth VZ-550 Azimuth Stern Drive Propellers. They have accommodation for 16 persons. The two companies have a working relationship that stretches back more than a decade, and all five of Rederij Croen's Seismic Research Support vessels have been built at Maaskant, which is part of the Damen Shipyards Group. The Group operates 32 shipbuilding and repair yards, employing 9,000 people worldwide.
