She no longer has a crew on board doing maintenance work, only security staff. A major problem In converting her to a hotel would be removal of all the asbestos, while there is also corrosion to parts of the hull and fittings. Ian added: 'I suspect the conversion will never go ahead - the cost would simply be too high, whether done in China or in Dubai'.
