TUI to replace Thomson brand

British holiday and cruise operator Thomson is to be rebranded over the next 18 months taking the name of German parent,TUI. The first major move comes with the debut of new cruise acquisition Splendour of the Seas as TUI Discovery at Palma, Majorca, on 11 June. A new programme for summer 2017 will see three of the four-strong fleet based in the western and eastern Mediterranean, together with a return to ex-UK itineraries for the first time since 2014. This will see the 1,254-passenger/1983-built Thomson Celebration, by then likely to have been renamed TUI Celebration, running out of Newcastle North Shields, between June and September.
