The biggest cruise ship ever

I was lucky enough to be among a group of media representatives taken on a tour of Royal Caribbean's new giant cruise ship, Harmony of the Seas, during the last stages of her fitting-out process at the STX Europe shipyard at St Nazaire in mid-February. It was quite an experience! As ever, the designers behind the ship have come up with an impressive and almost unbelievable array of features, which some might see as gimmicks, but the people behind them have extraordinary imaginations to come up with the entertainment ideas on offer. Seeing the ship in build, I was struck by the considerable amount of work that goes into constructing a ship as large and as incredibly complex as Harmony of the Seas. It also showed amazing attention to detail, with every area meticulously thought through, planned, designed and - now - being built.
