NEW STENA QUARTET BUILDING FOR BELFAST SERVICE

Stena Line confirmed in February that all four E-Flex ro-pax ferries on order from the AVIC Shipyard in China will operate from the company's Belfast hub, taking over services linking the Northern Ireland port with Cairnryan and Birkenhead when they are delivered in 2019 and 2020. One of Stena's biggest new built contracts for many years will produce 1,000-passenger/3,000-lane-metre ferries powered by 'gas-ready' main engines, fuelled by methanol or LNG. The AVIC contract also includes an option for four further vessels.
