After seven crew members tested positive for Covid-19 in November 2020, the entire crew of Stena Horizon was put into quarantine. After cleaning and sanitising, the 2006-built ro-pax vessel was anchored off Anglesey with a minimum relief crew on board. Normally employed between Rosslare and Cherbourg, the 27,522gt vessel had been switched to Holyhead-Dublin services while route regular Stena Adventurer (20003/43,532gt) went for overhaul. Meanwhile, also in November, China's Jinling Weihai Shipyard handed over the fourth E-Flexer ro-pax vessel Stena Embla. She is expected to join sister Stena Edda on the Stena Line Irish Sea service linking Birkenhead Twelve Quays with Belfast early in 2021. With Galicia now in service for Brittany Ferries (see pages 33-35), the fifth of nine E-Flexers on order is Cote d'Opale, which is due to be delivered at the end of June to join the Dover-Calais service of DFDS Seaways. The E-Flexers measure 214.5m by 27.8m with 3,100 lane metres.
