Despite the digital age enabling quicker commerce, the international shipping industry seems to be moving in the opposite direction. The world's largest shipping company, Copenhagen-based Maersk Line, along with many other shipping lines, are embracing 'slow steaming' and increasing transit time of ships on their routes.
