Castrol Marine, ProSea, Eco Ports, and the publisher of SW&S, IMarEST, joined forces this month in a bid to create awareness of the of the environmental damage caused from oil leaks from ships.The aim of the GreenShip campaign, to motivate the industry into taking more positive action to reduce the impact of oil entering the marine eco system, follows industry research that suggests over 30 million gallons of oil is leaked from ships' machinery during normal operations in ports and harbours every year.
