Sea trials carried out onboard nine AET Ship-management-owned aframax tankers have corroborated claims that Nippon Paint Marine Coatings' next generation antifouling paint, LF-Sea, can reduce significantly a shipowner's fuel bill.rnThe trials, together with earlier laboratory tests at Osaka University and Kobe University found that a the paint substantially reduces hull frictional resistance by 4%, resulting in reduced full consumption.
