Rudderpropelller pioneer Schottel has concluded the phase one development of its rim driven thruster and is now marketing the product with the expectation of delivering the first unit next year. Unveiled for the first time at the SMM exhibition in Hamburg, the Schottel Rim Thruster, or SRT, is an electric propulsion system without a gearbox or drive shaft.
