In these difficult days for shipbuilding, when a vast number of new deliveries have resulted in over-supply and further depression of already low freight rates, it is refreshing to find a shipyard that claims to have packed an orderbook worth US$1.5bn and all building slots booked out until 2015. Indeed, India's largest private sector shipbuilder ABG Shipyard, the flagship company of the ABG Group, has been able to flourish at a time when well-known Korean and Chinese shipbuilders have been facing numerous cancellations and a lack of fresh orders.
