Since in this issue we have refreshed our memory on Professor Adam Armanda, we use this occasion to draw some comparison between his time and the present moment, particularly concerning higher education. Adam Armanda became a university professor, not on the basis of PhD thesis and CC papers, but because he was an excellent engineer of high practical and theoretical knowledge in naval architecture. Unfortunately, today such a selection would be unthinkable "thanks" to some paragraphs of the current Law on Institutions of Higher Education.%U ovom smo se broju prigodno prisjetili profesora Adama Armande, pa bi bilo dobro povući neke usporedbe između njegovog vremena i trenutka sadašnjosti, posebno kad je riječ o visokom školstvu.
