Neuentwicklung: APAR - Ein Technologiesprung in der Radartechnik

APAR (Active Phase Array Radar) is a new technology in naval application. APAR is an four faced fixed phased array radar, where each array consists of around 3000 transmit and receive modules. Each module is a complete radar unit in itself, which gives APAR a higher redundance and a higher flexibility than conventional radars. The radar is controlled directly from the command and control system, which increases the usability quite large. By using all functionalities APAR can detect targets in a horizon or volume search mode, track multiple targets, illuminate multiple targets, detects targets from other sensors by using the cueing function and send uplink messages to several missiles, all at one time.
