New small ferry for CalMac

Ascottish yard, the Corpach Boatbuilding Company, has recently completed a small ferry for operator Caledonian MacBrayne Ltd. Designed by the yard at just 10.5m in length and with a passenger capacity of 28, Laig Bay replaces the traditional timber-built Ulva as the transfer boat serving the Isle of Eigg community on the west coast of Scotland. The role of the new craft is to transport goods and passengers to and from the schedule supply steamer, Loch Nevis, for which the island has no pier or dock.
