In continuation of its ongoing expansion plans, the 100%-owned Qatari company Doha Marine Services (DMS) has recently taken delivery of its latest acquisition, a 60m DP2 construction maintenance, and dive support vessel, DMS Conquest. Established in 1991, DMS has become one of the major marine services companies in Qatar. Until the delivery of DMS Conquest, it owned and operated two supply vessels, DMS 2000 and DOPET V, but has recently committed itself to the acquisition of several more newbuilds, including DMS Conquest and DMS Challenger, a 48m multi-purpose supply vessel which is building in China currently. Conceptual design of DMS Conquest was undertaken by the DMS management team following a careful evaluation of its clients' needs and the weather conditions in the area, the process producing a 'pocket DP vessel' designed to cater for needs of the offshore oil and gas sector in the region.
