New concept vessel gets to work

The Terra Marique multi-purpose pontoon (MPP) vessel owned by Robert Wynn & Sons of the UK (see Ship & Boat International, May/June 2004) has successfully dealt with her first cargoes. The first duty, and perhaps the highest profile in terms of media interest, was the delivery of Concorde aircraft G-BOAA in April. The aircraft was loaded at Isleworth in west London, then travelled down the river Thames en route to the aircraft's final destination, the national Museum of Flight in East Fortune, Scotland. It was this river part of the journey that proved the most relevant to Terra Marique's commercial raison d'etre.
