CAD has come a fair way since the days when it was treated primarily as a set of building blocks for new vessels. Since the technology and software have become more widespread, the marine industry has learned to adapt these systems for a whole host of niche and specialist tasks, and is coming to demand software packages that enable them to hone in on specific areas of interest.
