Moose M2 models in demand

A steady stream of orders for fireboats and police craft has kept Californian builder and aluminium catamaran production specialist Moose Boats afloat this year. The group's yard, situated in Petaluma, in the San Francisco Bay Area, typically manufactures high-speed craft in a range of 10-15m loa, primarily coupled to outboards or waterjets. As summer drew to a close, Moose Boats concluded the delivery of a new patrol cat to the New York City Police Department (NYPD). Built to the specifications of the yard's M2-35 class, the 10.67m loa cat represents the fourth sister to a trio of NYPD M2-35s, the first of which was delivered in December 2009. All four vessels are deployed in New York Harbor and the East and Hudson Rivers, where their primary duties include patrol work, SAR and dive operations.
