Singapore Technologies (ST) Engineering's ship production and repair division, ST Marine, is currently completing four high-tech patrol vessels for the Royal Navy of Oman (RNO). March heralded the interim delivery of the first vessel in the series, RNOV Al Seeb, and a formal naming ceremony for the second, RNOV Shinas. Following some final onboard tweaks, RNOV Al Seeb will be handed over to the RNO in Q2 this year, and all four vessels will be delivered by the end of Q3 2016. Each of these patrol ships is built to an overall length of 75m and a breadth of 12m, and features a displacement of approximately 1,250tonnes. Designed to accommodate up to 67 persons apiece, the vessels can rely on a range of 3,000nm when operating at 16knots in sea state 3 conditions, maxing out at 25knots in this sea state.
