MCI targets yachtowners

Although still relatively small, the Maritime Cook Islands (MCI) is aiming to build itself up as a competitive registry, with a special emphasis on high-value yachts and offshore oil and gas vessels. Glenn Armstrong, MCI chief executive, tells Ship & Boat International that the registry is pursuing a policy of "annual flag state inspections and aggressive follow-up on all deficiencies picked up by flag state inspections, port state inspections or annual inspections and audits".
