The latest inshore Coulam Wheelyboat V20 could be used as a dive platform, a water taxi or a harbour launch but is not exactly what you'd expect for a boat with wheelchair users in mind. For one thing, its top speed is a fairly racy 26knots. However, wheelchair use is exactly what this boat has been developed for, explains Andy Beadsley of UK charity The Wheelyboat Trust; he is a self-confessed "wheelchair speed freak" who has been heading up the charity that helps Sailability, Outward Bound and other activity centres offer their visitors accessible powerboating and powerboat training.
