Hailed as the first dual-fuel tug to have been built in Europe, Dux has completed her sea trials and is now safely in the hands of Norway-headquartered owner Østensjø Rederi. Designed by Canada's Robert Allan Limited (RAL), to the specifications of that architect's RAstar 4000-DF class, and constructed at Astilleros Gondan's yard in Asturias, Spain, as the first in a series of three such tugs, Dux ticks the boxes when it comes to what a modern tug is expected to deliver. In addition to her escort tug duties, the 40.2m loa steel vessel has also been equipped to undertake firefighting and oil spill clean-up duties , and all in the most treacherous of conditions.
