New RIBs on the block

A collaboration between RIB/powerboat designer Barry Carson and UK boatbuilder CTruk is set to see the launch of a new family of RIBs, spanning 4.5-15m in length and incorporating a variety of customisable layout and engine options. The Carson-CTruk line, as it has been dubbed, will offer the choice of open-deck, cabin-fitted and wheelhouse-fitted models. And, while Carson RIBs' core customer base has traditionally comprised professional end users since the firm's establishment in the early 1980s, the new range will include designs specifically developed as luxury cruisers and superyacht tenders - a smart move perhaps, given the phenomenal growth of the yacht sector in recent years.
