Organisations can use various methods to optimise ship-and yachtbuilding projects, with the ultimate goal of a maximally efficient process. The word 'lean' is often mentioned when it comes to optimisation. Lean literally stands for 'lean', a word that does not always give me a positive feeling. I personally see the meaning of 'lean' as 'trained'. Let's focus on training to get better.This article is more of a practical look at the ship- and yachtbuilding process, and where opportunities for optimisation lie. Because I have worked in various positions at suppliers and yachtbuilders, where I have come into contact with all facets, I have a good idea of the entire chain. I would like to briefly describe a number of important opportunities, in random order.
