Progress in Photovoltaics

One year ago in this column I wrote about the photovoltaic (PV) opportunity and outlined SEMI's plans to support and expand our services to the PV industry. I'm pleased to report that we have made good progress. A cornerstone of our efforts was the recent formation of the SEMI PV Group comprised of SEMI members active in the PV market, as well as the various SEMI PV Advisory Committees, all supported by dedicated SEMI staff resources around the world. Leaders in PV manufacturing conceived the group to address the opportunities and obstacles to bringing low-cost PV technology and sustainable, clean energy to the world.
