As global warming becomes an increasing concern, many nations around the world are imposing stringent new regulations concerning air and water pollution that will affect a wide range of industries, including semiconductor, LED and solar manufacturers. Although in the past Germany and Japan have had some of the strictest air and water emission regulations in the world, India and China have gone on record as wanting to impose regulations as much as 25% more stringent than those already in effect in Germany. As a result, abatement technology is becoming increasingly important, even in regions where environmental concerns have previously had little impact on manufacturing. We welcome these moves and believe that it is important that all countries increase their focus on the environment.
