This year's Marintec China 2019 will be be held at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre from 3-6 December, and will celebrate the event's 40 years of excellence serving the Chinese and international maritime industry. The fair has evolved massively in recent decades, in step with the transformation of Chinese shipyards from the 1980s onwards, the rise of globalisation and shift in the shipbuilding market eastwards in the 1990s, awareness of the environmental responsibility of the industry and the rise of Chinese-owned tonnage in the 2000s, and digitalisation and rapid technological and economic change in the 2010s.
