Canada Restarts Joint Support Ship

The Canadian Ministry of National Defense is again moving forward with the acquisition of the Joint Support Ship (JSS) for the Canadian Navy. The new ships will be built in Canada, as announced in the early June release of the new National Shipbuilding Procurement Strategy.rnThe JSS program, which had been canceled in 2008 because of budgetary concerns, will include two units with an option for a third. The total program costs are projected at $2.5 billion.
