Turning the Corner

Rear Adm. David J. Gale, commander, Navy Regional Maintenance Centers (CNRMC), reports directly to the commander of Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) as his point man for sustaining the material readiness of the Navy's surface combatants. He has been instrumental in reversing a declining trend in ship readiness and streamlining the Navy's policies and processes of maintaining its ships, centralizing contracting processes and extending the infrastructure of intermediate-level (I-level) maintenance forward with forward-deployed forces.
