Daytona Beach Area Council Assists NASCAR in Honoring Sea Services

In conjunction with the NASCAR Xfinity series race on July 1 at Daytona, Fla., International Speedway, NASCAR held a "Salute To The U.S. Military." The names of military commands and ships were placed on the windshields of all of the participating race cars. The Daytona Beach Area Council (DBNL) worked for several months coordinating the pre-race arrangements for more than 20 Navy, Marine and Coast Guard ships and commands, according to a report from Chas Folcik, past president of the council. Each honored ship and command was sent NASCAR souvenir memorabilia for display in their workplaces.
