New Foil-Fusing Technologies Increase Productivity, Lower Consumable Costs

Foil-fusing, the process of bonding foil to a toner image printed with a copier or laser printer, has been around for many years. The foil-fusing process creates flat foil images and text without a special die, expensive foil-stamping equipment, complex makeready or a skilled operator. In 2002, Therm-O-Type introduce a foil-fusing product called Foil-Tech. Using Foil-Tech equipment, foils and films, print shops can produce a wide range of products efficiently. To operate the automatic Foil-Tech, the appropriate foil color and roll width is installed in the machine. Paper then is loaded into the feeder. Sheets up to 14.5 inches wide by up to 2 ft. long can be run through the machine. Once the desired fusing temperature is reached and the speed control is set, paper feed is activated.
