UNIVERSITIES-ENGINES OF INNOVATION IN THE INFORMATION SOCIETY

The subject that we have now is a difficult one and the obvious answer that everybody is expecting, is that we should way that universities are engines for innovation. This is something generally accepted: That innovation is a necessary condition for increasing industrial competitiveness and economic progress. This is a general picture and everybody agrees with that in principle, but it is worth to underline that this is just one condition. One necessary condition, but not enough.
