Lynford Goddard. a former postdoctoral researcher in the Laboratory's Engineering Directorate, was named a recipient of the Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers.rnGoddard, who is now an assistant professor of electrical and computer engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, was nominated for the presidential award by Diane Chinn, deputy division leader of the Engineering Technologies Division. The prestigious award is the highest honor bestowed by the U.S. government on young professionals in the early stages of their independent research careers.
