Challenges involving Science and Technology For Sustainable Development in Asia

In tandem with the recent result of the science and technology development forecast for Japan over the next 30 years as announced by the National Institute of Science and Technology Policy (NISTEP, of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology or MEXT), Japan hosted "The 1st Asian Science and Technology Forum," sponsored by NISTEP, with support from Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) and National Research Institute for Earth Science and Disaster Prevention (NIED), which was held in September 9, 2005 at Roppongi Academyhills. The event targeted persons interested in science and technology, offering the overall theme for the forum of "Challenges for Science and Technology in Achieving Sustainable Development in Asia."
