6th Life Science Summit Calls For Clinical Research Reform

Tokyo Prince Hotel was venue to the Sixth Life Science Summit, held on April 24, 2006 under the theme of innovation in the life sciences. This Life Science Summit was held under the auspices of the Life Science Summit Executive Committee, to discuss post-genome biotechnology strategies; specifically the focii this year were on clinical research and the health maintenance system. The Life Science Summit Executive Committee comprising Mr. Koji Omi (Chair of Diet Members' Promotion Alliance for Life Sciences [DMPALS]), Dr. Tadamitsu Kishimoto (member of the Council for Science & Technology Policy in the Cabinet Office) and Mr. Katsuhiro Utada (Chair of the Japan Association of Bioindustry Executives [JABEX]). The summit was attended by roughly 400 bioindustry leaders from academia, industry and government.
