Letters to the editor: Comments on Mirskaya's paper on international Collaboration of post-communist countries

IWELOME THE DEVOTION of some space by Science and Public Policy to the ongoing reforms in science systems in the post-communist countries (Elena Z Mirskaya, "International scientific collaboration in the post-communist countries: mod- ern trends and priorities", 24(5), 1997, pages 301-308). The intensified international scientific col- laboration in these countries is one of the best out comes of the transformation process since 1990. A noteworthy point is that the paper of Professor Mir- dkaya itself is good evidence of the role of such collaboration in the post-communist countries, as it is a result of one of the biggest international projects realised in science studies since reforms of S & T systems took place in those countries.
