摘要

This paper investigates the propagation of plane SH waves in the model which consists of an anisotropic, fiber reinforced, crustal layer with surface stress and an elastic semi space with irregularity in the interface. Two types of irregularity namely rectangular and parabolic near the surface of separation have been considered and comparison has been made. For real wave velocity, two possibilities have been studied in details. Some important formulae have been obtained from our more general result as particular cases. Ranges of possible values of dimensionless wave velocity have been presented under different circumstances. It is also seen that these ranges depend neither on surface stress nor on irregularity of the interface. Numerical calculations have been made. Graphs have been plotted to highlight the effect of irregularity, surface stress and fiber reinforcement separately. Their combined effect has also been studied. Modulations of wave velocity for different cases may be noted and compared from the figures.
