A METHOD BASED ON FUZZY LINEAR PROGRAMMING FOR SOLVING TRANSPORTATION PROBLEM

Among all real life problems, the transportation problem, as a manifestation of the complex human, social, economic and political instructions are filled with uncertainties. For the scientific analysis of transportation problems uncertainties must be accounted properly. It is obvious that transportation problem is a special type linear programming problem. In this paper attempt has to be made to study a fuzzy approach of transportation model using trapezoidal fuzzy number. For finding the solution of the fuzzy transportation problem and equivalent system of linear programming problem has been converted and then solved by standard LP methods. Also it has shown that the result vary with the small percentage which is accepted.
