Dean Bavington is Assistant Professor of History and Geography and holds a Canada Research Chair in the Environmental History of Management at Nipissing University in North Bay, Ontario, Canada. His latest book is Managed Annihilation: An Unnatural History of the Newfoundland Cod Fisheries Collapse (University of British Columbia, 2010). Paul Erickson is Assistant Professor of History and Science in Society at Wesleyan University. His research focuses on exploring the transfer of models and methods between the natural and social sciences, between nature's economy and political economy. He is currently completing a book on the history of game theory and related models of rational choice in Cold War America.
