WHITHER MEDICAL SCIENCES

摘要

Medical Sciences have grown as part and parcel of human civilization and had been responsible to a great extent for its development as well as some of its ills. A new chapter has been opened with the recent sequencing of 23 pairs of chromosomes of the human. Ethical and other debates created originally some problems most of which have been overruled with the new knowledge acquired. It is becoming more and more clear that the strenuous and one of the most expensive efforts was not in vein. New vistas have been opened to challenge not only the hereditary diseases but also all common diseases from which the human suffer from the dawn of the civilization. Other than that life sciences, in general, have been highly benefited from the new knowledge acquired through medical research. The reverse is also true. In that respect it can be ascertained that medical sciences have not at all gone astray. Although it has not yet been possible to conquer all the diseases, for example, cancer, yet it is expected that the battle will be over soon.
