摘要

The objective of this study was the development and test of a methodology by which the National Library of Medicine could evaluate the level of coverage of monographs using CATLINE. The medical behavioral sciences (MBS) literature was the 'test site' for this research. The present study reports on the development of a citation-derived sampling technique to sample MBS monographs and the gathering and analysis of data through that technique. Other online monograph databases furnish critically important comparative data against which to test the utility of any particular monograph collection and any pattern of coverage.
