The power quality is one of the major issues in power distribution systems. Many critical machines, industrial processes, cyclotrons and other accelerators, especially those controlled by computers are sensitive to any voltage sag (dip) or short interruptions in the utility supply line. These disturbances in supply can increase the down time of the machine and hence the cost of production.
