Growth and Biomass as Influenced by Different Nutritional Treatments in Withania somnifera (Ashwagandha), an Important Medicinal Plant of the Indian Arid Zone

The Indian desert is considered very poor in its natural vegetation resources. The ephemerals avoid rather than withstand the dry season and therefore, do not exhibit xeric habit. Their main morphological attribute is the small size and shallow roots. Physiologically, they are adapted to rapid growth, speed of germination and maturity under favourable environmental conditions.
