This is a very impressive and heavy model when built. The parts assemble together very nicely and when finished the model captures the looks of the Hamilcar perfectly. These kits are not cheap however but if you want a scale model of the Hamilcar-X then you have few other options. There is a vacform kit available by Sanger but these kits require far more work than a resin kit though they are cheaper. The Hamilcar along with the Horsa glider played key roles in the Normandy and Arnhem Landings during World War II and are an important part of our military history. I have the Italeri Short Stirling glider tug already made and the Horsa glider in my pile of kits, along with the Revell Halifax, which I intend to make into the glider tug. Planet's Hamilcar is a significant part of this collection. I enjoyed it immensely and am grateful to Special Hobby for supplying the review kit.
