I enjoyed these builds, for various reasons. Another chance to submerge myself in a period I'm very fond of and where, as a child, my love of aviation and then modelling grew. Another chance to follow Mr Hatcher's dictum:'Are we not modellers?' And other things: I was away from the modelling bench for quite a while; a long spell in hospital; moving house; more tricks my body played with me. And then a return, on the dining-room table, to what a very good friend has dubbed 'aircrafting; while a room in the new house was fitted out, by another friend, to be a proper'aircrafting'room, the best environment for it I've ever had. I can't speak for others, but this hobby works for my intellectual side as well as providing satisfaction and occasionally a thrill from producing something that illustrates how remarkable human creation can be...forgoodor ill.
